The wedding morning is the most critical moment of the preparation, and hair is its visible heart. The hair design you have dreamed of for years, with proper planning, will look perfect in photos and in motion. Here is our preparation calendar for bridal hair.
3 months before: Plan and decide
Settle the neckline of the gown and the choice of veil and jewellery. Decide whether you can keep your hair length or want extensions. Book your stylist; in the busy season (May-September) Saturday appointments fill months ahead. At Zülüf the date is reserved with a 20% deposit.
2 months before: Hair health programme
If hair is damaged, plan repair care and keratin or hair botox. If colour is planned, refresh it at this stage. Start a weekly mask routine. Cut back on heat tools.
1 month before: Trial day
The trial day is the most important session where the real style is determined. Bring your accessory, your veil and a top similar to the neckline of your gown (or its photo). In the 2-3 hour trial, the style, hair padding and clip placement are settled and photos are taken.
2 weeks before: Final cut and colour
Trimming and, if necessary, the last colour are done now; close enough that hair is still fresh, but early enough to correct any problem. Plan brow and nail care this week as well.
1 week before: Hair diet
Do not try new products or have any new chemical treatment. Protect hair from sun, pool and sea water.
Wedding morning
- Wash your hair the evening before; washing on the morning leaves hair too slippery.
- Wear a button-up or zip top; pulling a T-shirt over your head spoils the style.
- Show your stylist the gown and accessory; place the veil together.
- Keep an emergency clip and hairspray with you.
The bride's relatives
With an extra package for mother, sister and bridesmaids we work with several stylists on the same day. Settle the schedule the day before.
Bridal hair starts at 4,800 TRY; the trial day is included.
Hair extensions and accessories
For fine or short hair, clip-in extensions or padding can be used for volume and length. The extension colour is matched exactly to your hair and tested on the trial day. Bring accessories such as a tiara, clips and flowers to the trial; seeing the final look before the real day is a great comfort.
